In our last blog, we talked about changing a bad habit into a good habit. Today, we’re going to delve into simply adding a good habit to your routine. Let’s say you just want to add a daily natural supplement to your diet, for instance. Follow these steps, and you may find that you’ve created a lasting good habit.

Adding a Good Habit

Improving your life may mean merely adding good habits. If you’ve shaken all the bad habits that used to cling to your back - or if you live without bad habits - you can improve your life by subscribing to a good habit. Now, it’s time to break out the ol’ pen and paper. Let’s make a list of pros and cons.

Overcome Cons, Attain Pros

You want to build a good habit into your life. Let’s say you’re looking to take up biking. Write down the cons. For instance, biking can be difficult, painful, exhausting, and time-consuming. Now write down the benefits. Biking can help you shed some pounds; you may look more attractive; you may feel better; you may have more energy throughout the day; you might meet more people; you can enjoy the scenery around you; and you’ll catch some sun and some vitamin D as you ride. The benefits outweigh the cons because it’s a good habit. Get inspired by these pros, and don’t let the cons intimidate you. Know that you’re improving yourself. Know that you’re growing stronger every day.

Set Reachable Goals

As you dig into a good habit, you should set goals that are attainable. Build yourself a ladder where each rung is positioned to allow you to move forward, progress, and rise up. If you set goals that are too difficult, you’re more likely to fail and revert to your normal day-to-day. On the other hand, you won’t want to set goals that are too easy. You won’t see results if your goals are too easy, and again, you may revert back to your normal day-to-day. Try setting fairly easy goals at first, and don’t be afraid to adjust your goals as you go.

Now, if you skip a day, don’t beat yourself up. Just get back on the horse, and keep moving forward. Before you know it, your good habit will be just that… a habit.

Easy Good Habits

Some habits are rather easy. Let’s call these habits ‘low hanging fruit habits.’ They’re simple, but deserve to be taken seriously. Adding a health supplement to your routine - that’s a low hanging fruit habit. Taking a 10 minute walk everyday… easy. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day; no big deal. With these practices, your low hanging fruit habits, consider using a reminder. Set an alarm for 1 PM to remind you to get outside and walk. Set an alarm for lunch time to take your daily supplement. Set an alarm for every hour or so to drink a glass of water. Soon enough, you won’t need an alarm; your good habit will be routine.

So start adding good habits to your life. Set attainable goals for the harder habits, and remind yourself to stay on top of easy ones. Don’t forget to take your daily health supplement from NutraBulk!
